Sports Hub of the US

Atlanta, Georgia welcomes people from all walks of life, including sports fans. Whether you are a fan of baseball, basketball, football, or soccer, there is a place to watch your favorite team in the city. Grab your favorite team jersey, paint your face, and head for some fun while you enjoy the game.

Baseball

Baseball fans have plenty to cheer about when it comes to the hometown Atlanta Braves. Take a tour of the team’s new home SunTrust Park. On game day, either head for SunTrust Park or pack your favorite tailgate and head for The Battery Atlanta. Watch the game on television while enjoying cornhole and a mouthwatering menu from various locations. The Battery features nine different restaurants where fans can see the game. Fans will not miss any of the game day reactions as the stadium is located right at the end of the battery. Bring your baseball glove and keep an eye on the sky for any incoming baseballs.

Basketball

Head for State Farm Arena before a Hawks game and catch a performance the ATL Boom drumline and the dancers before the game. STATS Brewpub on Marrietta Street Northwest is one of the best places to watch the games away from the arena. The bar is within walking distance of State Farm Arena, allowing you to soak in the game time excitement. While you are there, enjoy one of the six home-brewed beers along with a full menu during the game.

Football

Football fans start your Atlanta sports experience with a tour of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Then slip into your favorite jersey and head for the parking lot. Tailgating is a huge part of the culture in Atlanta. Many Falcons fans gather in bars and other watering holes in the Downtown Entertainment District on game day.

College football fans make sure you visit the College Football Hall of Fame before game day. Then settle in for the next Georgia or Georgia Tech game surrounded by thousands of fellow fans. Check with alumni groups for away game options. Tech is in the middle of the city, so there are plenty of opportunities to tailgate around the stadium.

If you want the chance to check out a smaller college team, watch the Georgia State University Panthers on Saturdays. They are part of the Sunbelt Conference and create a din of excitement downtown away from the bigger stadiums.

Soccer

The Atlanta United FC team plays their spirited games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. If you cannot make a match in person, you can still watch the team play at various locations throughout the city.  One of the more popular bars is Ri Ra on Peachtree Street. There, you can not only catch all of the home team’s games, but also arrive early and watch the morning matches from the English Premier League.

Before you head out to enjoy the game, make sure you set up a safe ride. This way, you and your friends and family can get to the game and arrive safely home afterward.
