Sunny weather is usually the best time to go out and have fun, but that doesn’t mean you should let a cold rainy day stop you from enjoying yourself with your friends and family. These places in Cumming, Georgia, are the perfect spots for when you want to spend a fun day out on a rainy day.rain on a window

Stars and Strikes

The idea for Stars and Strikes actually came on a rainy day back in 2003, when two Atlanta residents realized that their city, just like most other urban areas in the country, needs an indoor venue where people of all ages can have tons of fun together. Two years later, their plan became reality and the first of many locations was opened. Nowadays, there are 16 Stars and Strikes locations in multiple states, with a few more to open soon.

The Cumming location features over 50,000 square feet of clean family fun, with bowling, a huge arcade, a multi-story laser tag experience, bumper cars, and many more attractions for all ages. There’s also an amazing restaurant and bar with a huge selection of menu items, mostly featuring easy to eat dishes like burgers, finger food, sandwiches, wraps, chicken wings, and much more.

Gibbs Gardens

Georgia’s warm climate means that there are plenty of things to do outdoors, even on a rainy day. Founded and designed by Jim Gibbs on what he considered to be “the most beautiful site in the nation,” this amazing garden stretches over 220 acres, making it one of the largest residential estate gardens in the country. Those who wish to reconnect with nature will absolutely love this place, with its incredible variety of plants, 24 ponds, 19 waterfalls, and 32 bridge crossings making every trip here a memorable one.

There’s so much to see here that a complete tour of the gardens can take up to four hours. However, time will fly, as you’ll discover that walking through the gorgeous natural landscape is the perfect antidote to the boredom caused by staying indoors for too long. Also, if you get hungry during your visit there’s no need to panic because their in-house restaurant, Arbor Cafe, offers delicious food to visitors.

Interactive Neighborhood for Kids, Inc.

Located in Gainesville, about 20 miles east of Cumming, this wonderful facility is run by a non-profit organization and aims to help kids of all ages learn while having fun. Their aim is to create entire “neighborhoods” with elements like doctor’s offices, grocery shops, airports, fire trucks, beauty salons, trains, and much more. The staff is very friendly and professional, helping kids have the time of their lives while getting to do the things they usually see grown-ups do. It’s also available to host kids’ birthday parties and other kinds of private parties.

A rainy day is no reason to abandon your plans to go out with friends or family. By visiting any of these three locations, you and your loved ones will spend a wonderful few hours together, playing, exploring, and having a good time.
