2019 Spring Events in Atlanta, GA

Spring will be here before you know it and there are a lot of local events to check out in Atlanta, Georgia. Here are some of the most popular festivals in the area that are sure to keep you entertained.

Atlanta Film Festival 

The Atlanta Film Festival has been running since 1976 and is one of the largest film festivals in the nation. The festival will run from April 4 – 14, 2019 at multiple venues in the Downtown Atlanta area. For movie buffs, this event features hundreds of films and draws up to 25,000 people from around the world. There are award ceremonies, workshops, and various events allowing movie fans to meet filmmakers. Make sure you get your tickets early.

Atlanta Dogwood Festival

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival will be held April 12 – 14, 2019 in Piedmont Park. This is a great time to explore the park as the beautiful native dogwood trees will be blooming. The festival has been in existence for over 80 years, and there is plenty for the family to do and see. This event features a variety of live music, arts and crafts, and food booths from local vendors.

You can enjoy art of all types including sculpture, paintings, pottery, jewelry, photography, and more. For children, there will be face painting, rock climbing, inflatables, arts and craft, and rides. Admission to the Atlanta Dogwood Festival is free.

Georgia Renaissance Festival

The Georgia Renaissance Festival will be held every weekend this spring from April 13 – June 2, 2019. Take a trip to a 16th-century village in England as you spend the day among numerous characters in costume. With 10 different stages, you can view a variety of performances including dancing, juggling, and magic. One of the most popular and thrilling shows to watch is the knights in armor as they joust in competition.

Throughout the 32-acre site, you will enjoy over 150 artisan shops, games, rides, delicious food, pubs, and taverns. Make sure you get your tickets to this popular event early.

Inman Park Festival

The Inman Park Festival takes place in one of the city’s most historic and beautiful neighborhoods. The festival takes place April 27 – 28, 2019, and was founded in the 1970s as a way to help preserve the rich history of the neighborhood and promote restoration efforts. The festival features a parade, large arts and crafts show and street market, and kids’ zone with a play area and lots of fun hands-on activities.

Several stages are set up throughout the park, with bands playing various genres of music. A tour of homes is available for those who want to get a closer view at some of the beautiful Victorian homes located in this unique neighborhood. Admission to the festival is free, but there is a small fee for the tour.
