Lincoln Continental luxury sedan | Billy Howell Ford LincolnJust the name Lincoln Continental makes you think of age-old luxury. The first Continental arrived in 1930 with the intention of giving drivers in the U.S. the feel of European luxury, and it has kept the same mission ever since. The latest generation of this large sedan is more modern, pairs opulence with power, and provides a large, spacious cabin. Here are some reasons to rekindle your love affair with a Lincoln Continental.

  1. The Style

The latest generation of the Continental features the classic look from the early ’60s but with a modern twist. Up front, a large, shiny honeycomb chrome grille makes a bold statement, while the bulging hood leads to sleek side doors and the tapered rear end. This vehicle comes in four different trims, starting with the Premiere. This has 18-inch alloy wheels, power-folding side mirrors, and LED daytime running lights. The Select adds larger 19-inch wheels, a hands-free trunk lid, and power-operated soft-close doors.

The Reserve adds some extra technology and safety equipment, while the sleek Black Label trim has 20-inch wheels, a panoramic moonroof, LED headlights, and more luxury features.

  1. The Power

There are three different powertrains available for the Continental. The base engine is a 3.7-liter V-6 that makes 305 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard on the Premiere and the Select. Next, a 2.7-liter turbo V-6 with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque is an available option for the Select and comes standard on the Reserve and Black Label. The Reserve and the Black Label also have the option for a 3.0-liter turbo V-6 that delivers 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

  1. Technology and Convenience

The latest generation of Lincoln Continentals also comes with the latest technology. The base model comes with an 8-inch touchscreen and the Sync3 infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and satellite radio and USB ports. Step up to the Select, and you get the option for Lincoln’s Perfect Position seats with a 30-way power adjustment. Additional technology Lincoln makes available includes a 19-speaker Revel stereo system, power-adjustable rear seats, rear-side window sunshades, and heated and ventilated front seats.

  1. The Safety Technology

The Continental comes standard with several safety features, including both front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and a park assist system. It also comes standard with MyKey, a system that allows the primary driver to set specific parameters for secondary drivers, such as speed limits. Additional advanced safety systems are also available as part of the Technology package. They include a top-down camera system, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a head-up driver display, and adaptive cruise control. This package also includes a lane departure warning system with intervention to help you stay on the road.
